Great Movement but Bad Features
I bought this mouse to use with my Adobe programs because I wanted ultra precision. I had the wireless Logitech MX Revolution but getting in close with Photoshop it tended to “skip”. The G9 Laser Mouse is exactly what I needed it is smooth and glides. The sensitivity is the best I’ve had, when zooming in I set the dpi lower and when surfing the internet or gaming I set it all the way up. And you can set three dpi settings so that you can get to them with a push of a button.

Now for the bad part. I had the Logitech MX Revolution and the features on that like automatic scroll wheel change from smooth to click was amazing. The G9 has you turn the mouse over and click a button to switch it making the feature almost useless, since turning over the mouse clicking the button and then scrolling takes longer than just using the scroll bar.

The number of buttons on the G9 is also underwhelming giving you a Back, Forward, Dpi Up, Dpi Down on top of the standard left click, right click, middle click buttons.

The comfort is better on the MX Revolution but the G9 is still soft and smooth and gives you options to change the case to a smaller “grippy” top for precision gaming. The option to add weights to give you the perfect feeling is also a good addition.

In the future if logitech releases a MX Revolution that is corded or has the G9 smoothness and DPI that will be the perfect mouse. As for the G9 it’s a great precision mouse with not all the features you would like.

I recently upgraded my failing MX510 mouse. After reading so many positive reviews I decided to try the G9. The features and setup program are all fantastic. The mouse is great and very responsive. I loved the mouse untill I actually had to use it for more than a couple minutes and got even worse when I tried to game with it. This mouse is just to unergonomic. My wrist would get fatigued fast and start hurting after a short time. I tried for several days but it never got better and I never got used to it. I returned the G9 and got the G5 which uses the classic tried and true Logitech mouse shape and am not disappointed. It is a great mouse and I have no more pain in my wrist.

You will love it trust me
I orignally got the mx518 for christmas. I saw this and thought that looks like a big dumb box and very uncomfortable. well turns out one of my friends had got one for christmas and i tried his out. it was nice but he didnt have things the way i would have liked them. so i sort of dismissed it but then in the back of my mind i thought about it. and one night i saw it for about $50 with $5 shipping so i jumped on it. Best mouse i have ever used and thats including all the other logitech g series and mx518, diamondback, lachiess, and copperhead razor. It has so much customizability you can make it feel perfect. i myself like all the weights and the small drytech grip. coming from the mx518 shaped mouse it can feel weird and uncomfortable at first but you get used to it fast and it becomes actually quite comfortable. i game for hours at a time about 4 to 9 hours a day and i never get hand cramps or discomfort in my hand.

Great Mouse
This is a wonderful mouse. Highly recommended. Some find it not responsive enough for FPS gaming, but it has done well for me in CounterStrike, Call of Duty, and Unreal Tournament. It also has been great for graphical editing.

I do, however, have to say that there is nothing ground-shattering about this mouse. It works very well, is very reliable, is very comfortable, and is highly configurable–but still, it’s a mouse. Don’t break your bank on it. If it goes on sale or you like the cool look, go for it. Otherwise, you can afford to wait for a sale.
